Summer Tournament 2008
This
year saw the club put on it's 3rd and largest so far summer tournament .
Now that word has got around that the tournament is held annually around the first weekend in July the teams came flocking in from as far away as Battlebridge in London.
The
numbers filled up very quickly and we were soon
at capacity and found ourselves in the disappointing situation of
having to turn over 20 teams away but we just could not hope with any more.
(on that note get your entry forms back in early for the 2009 tournament to
avoid disappointment when they are released)
The Sunday tournament fell casualty to our glorious English weather as
rain and a cold biting wind left us with the unenviable decision to postpone
the day and re-run it again 3 weeks later on what turned out to be the
hottest day of the year. Many thanks to all the teams that came back and
supported the event and to those who filled a few blank spaces at short
notice.
